Why Did You Decide to Become a Holistic Dentist?
Dr. Nicole has had two experiences that have driven her to become a holistic dentist. Several years ago, Dr. Nicole was experiencing some minor medical issues. After several trips to her physician, referrals to specialists and different tests, nothing could be found. Instead of receiving advice on how to become healthier (exercise, eat healthier foods, reduce stress), she was prescribed medication even though there was no diagnosis. The pills were used to treat her symptoms. She refused the prescription and became focused on preventing issues before they became problems.
The second experience was the sudden passing of Dr. Nicole’s father. A few years ago, her father suddenly passed away of a heart attack. When asked about signs or symptoms of the event, he had been complaining of numbness in his legs (probably blood clots), terrible sleep (sleep apnea) and fatigue. Despite these issues his physicians gave him a clean bill of health three weeks prior to his passing. These two events turned her world upside down and started her on a journey to uncover the root causes for disease. She has created Project Health to treat the root causes of dental disease and stop the issues from returning.

Learning about how the health of the mouth is vital to the rest of the body is something that is fascinating to Dr. Nicole. She enjoys discovering new and innovative treatments to help keep her patients as healthy as possible. Continuing education is something that Dr. Nicole is deeply passionate about and she spends hundreds of hours every year to improve her knowledge, especially involving the study of functional medicine and natural ways to keep healthy without pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Nicole’s Philosophy
Dr. Nicole’s dental practice is an extension of her life and closely mirrors who she is. She believes that she has been called to help people transform their health – from accepting their current health status to purposefully moving towards health and wellness.
Dr. Nicole’s goal is to become a conduit of truthful, accurate information that creates that right environment for people to become healthier. To do this, she must help people make the best decisions that are appropriate for them. Through education and a thorough examination to determine the root cause of issues, her goal is to help each person become as healthy as they choose to be. She will support you 100% in whatever you choose. Dr. Nicole just wants to make sure each patient knows what they are saying “yes” to and what they are saying “no” to. Both have consequences, and too often doctors expect us to make decisions with limited information that we do not understand. She wants each of her patients to do what is right for them and help them achieve what they want, now and in the future.
